An official announcement may describe a product before a local store can sell it. Record the published release date and the source URL separately from your personal purchase date. This prevents a calendar entry from becoming an assumption that inventory is already available everywhere.

Create a review window

Before a release, decide your budget, storage space and collection goal. After opening product, take a short review window to catalog cards before buying more. If the first opening already covers your base-card goal, you may prefer singles or trades for remaining variants.
