Rarity is a label, not a valuation

Rarity can help you sort a collection, but it does not tell the complete story of a card. Demand, finish, language, condition, supply and timing all affect what collectors may seek. A high-rarity card with poor condition may be less useful to a binder collector than a clean lower-rarity card that completes a page.

Build a sorting system

Keep the original set order as the primary index. Add rarity as a secondary label for quick review. When you open product, record the exact card number first; then verify rarity and finish against the catalog. This protects your checklist from a visual guess based on foil or artwork.

Talk about evidence carefully

When market data is available, treat it as contextual estimate data with freshness and confidence, not a guaranteed sale price. While an approved source is pending, PalTCG intentionally shows the market as unavailable rather than filling gaps with simulated numbers. Your collection remains useful even when price context is not yet active.
