How to Organize Promo and Event Cards

Keep the source visible

Promotional cards often arrive through products, events or campaigns rather than a standard booster. Their origin matters because two cards can look similar while belonging to different release contexts. Store the official product or event reference beside the card record, and avoid assigning a set code that the source does not support.

Choose a physical home

One binder section can hold all promos, while dividers identify products or release years. If a promo is also playable, keep a protected duplicate outside the binder so the display copy is not handled repeatedly. Sleeves with a consistent color make it easier to identify the promo section during a trade review.

Track variants deliberately

Use a separate catalog position for foil, stamped or language variants when the published catalog distinguishes them. PalTCG card details are useful for checking the variant key and image status before you add a position. Do not use market estimates as proof that a promo is rare; rarity and price are different claims and should have different sources.
